At NZMA our goal is to make your time in New Zealand unforgettable. We strive to bring you world-class hospitality, cookery, pharmacy, business, and early childhood in small classes taught by industry-experienced tutors. Come and take a closer look.
We have courses from level 3 all the way up to level 7, so you can gain an education in New Zealand that will help ensure your future success.
We also have close relationships with employers, who come directly to us to recruit staff from hospitality, cookery, pharmacy, and business. Our employers include leaders in the industry, such as Heritage Hotels, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, Green Cross Health, and Mercury Energy, which means exciting job opportunities for our graduates.
Whether you’re looking for a part-time job while you study, a full-time job after you graduate or an internship placement to help you gain relevant work experience, Careers & Employment is here to help. We’ll get you work-ready, fine-tune your CV, prepare your interview skills, and line you up with exciting employment opportunities. Together we’ll make sure you get the perfect start to your ideal career. From education to employment, and from classroom to your career, we’re here to support you every step of the way, free of charge.
International students can work part-time, up to 20 hours a week, while they’re studying. They can also work full time during the school holidays. Once our students have graduated, they can apply for a Post Study Work visa. The team at NZMA Careers can offer guidance and support throughout this process to make sure all of our international students get a good start to their career.
NZMA has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education. Copies of the Code are available on request from this institution or from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website.

We have partnered with Sonder, a 24/7 personal safety and wellbeing service, to support all our international students. The Sonder app is for personal devices and has a number of features, like “Track My Journey” and “Check On Me”, that will help students live and study in New Zealand with confidence - if you are walking alone at night, going on a first date, or meeting up with a stranger to buy or sell goods, for example.
Additionally, if you are feeling stressed, anxious, lonely, or simply don't know who to turn to, you can speak to Sonder’s multilingual support team anytime via live chat or phone, and they can even send in-person assistance if you need it.
You will receive an activation email or text shortly before orientation. If you don't get your email or text, you will be given a code to use at orientation.
If you’re an international student (not currently a New Zealand resident or citizen), you can secure your place in your chosen course now.
