Never in a million years did NZMA graduate Natasha Taufalele think that she would climb the career ladder and secure her current managerial role.
When she first heard of NZMA, the Assistant Manager at Countdown’s Customer Care Centre was a stay-at-home mum with no prior qualifications.
Natasha shared what led her to pursue tertiary education: “I saw an NZMA ad that said ‘do you want a career in a fast growing industry?’ My answer to that was yes!”
At NZMA, Natasha has learnt valuable skills that have boosted her confidence.
“The course taught me a lot, and most of all it made me believe in myself.”
Natasha’s strong sense of self-belief led to her receiving a promotion at supermarket giant Countdown.
“After graduating from NZMA, I got my first contact centre job at Countdown, and I’ve been here ever since. I worked my way up from Customer Service Representative, to Senior Supervisor, to Team Leader, and now Assistant Contact Centre Manager.”
Natasha says she truly loves what she does: “I work with a fabulous bunch of people from different cultures. Every day is different.”
“I’ve been in the industry for eight years now, continuing to grow and learn new things.”
