New Zealand Certificate in Leadership (Level 3) Take the next step towards a career you’re proud of. Whether you’re fresh out of Level 2 study or looking to build your confidence before entering the workforce, this hands-on 14-week course gives you the practical skills and self-belief to step into the workplace and lead with confidence.
You’ll explore your own strengths and values, develop professional and ethical habits, sharpen your communication and teamwork skills, and practise real problem-solving in team environments. Every course is grounded in real workplace contexts and delivered by supportive tutors in a welcoming on-campus environment.
You will learn:
How to identify your personal strengths, values, and goals — and use them to lead yourself and others
Professional and ethical workplace behaviour, including reliability, accountability, and respectful communication
Communication tools and styles to lead tasks effectively and work well within diverse teams
Problem-solving and decision-making techniques you can apply in real workplace situations
Self-reflection skills to evaluate your own leadership and keep growing
How to bring your cultural identity and values into a leadership context, with a focus on Te Tiriti o Waitangi and inclusive practice

A NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident.
16 years of age and over before the start of the course.*
*15 year olds who hold Ministry-approved early exemption from their school may also be eligible. This exemption must be in place before the course starts.
This programme is currently only offered to domestic students.
