Principles and practices in hospitality management and supervision roles
Planning and monitoring food safety systems in food and beverage operations
Ensuring quality customer experiences through service provision in food and beverage service, functions and banqueting operations
Catering systems and management tools used in food and beverage service operations
Semester two:
The modern hospitality industry and interrelated nature of hospitality and tourism
Fundamentals of housekeeping and reception services with accommodation operations
Investigating hospitality in the travel and tourism sector
Planning and development of on-licensed premises operations
*Learners also complete key unit standards essential for employment in the food and licensed beverage sectors

International Students
Tuition Fees: NZ$20,960 Course Fee: NZ$3,200
The New Zealand Government has imposed an international student levy on tuition and course related fees. From 1 January 2019 the levy will be 0.89% of the compulsory tuition fees.
Entry Requirements
You need to be 16 or older and have successfully completed the Certificate in Hospitality (Restaurant Service) (Level 4) (or one of NZMA’s other Level 4 courses).
If you haven’t, you’ll need some relevant work experience and you’ll need to achieve the required level in our evaluation.
If you are an international student, you also need to have completed high school and have an English level of 5.5 IELTS or equivalent* with no band score lower than 5.
You must have travel and medical insurance and a valid visa.
* Other English Tests / evidence may be approved as advised by NZQA
