18 Weeks

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and learn the real skills of horticulture. This on-campus course teaches you how to care for plants from the ground up - from understanding soils and seed growth to nurturing healthy crops and managing different growing environments. You’ll learn the science behind how plants grow, and then put that knowledge into action every day.

Throughout the programme, you’ll get plenty of hands-on experience in real horticulture settings. You’ll spend time in greenhouses, gardens and outdoor growing areas, practising plant propagation, pruning, pest control and plant care. This practical training gives you the confidence to work with plants safely, correctly and independently.

By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills to start a career in horticulture or take your learning further. You’ll understand how to grow, maintain and protect plants, and you’ll know what it’s like to work in nurseries, production environments and other horticulture workplaces. If you love being outdoors, enjoy working with plants and want a qualification that leads to real opportunities, this course is the perfect place to start.
