Two new agreements will provide NZMA graduates with pathways to top universities in Auckland and South Australia.
NZMA has recently secured a pathway to AUT University. Students who complete NZMA’s Level 6 Diploma in Business (Advanced) with a B-grade average or equivalent are guaranteed to meet AUT’s criteria for recognition of prior learning, and can be credited with 120 points towards their Bachelor of Business. This means they can enter directly into the second year of the degree.
NZMA Director of Business Development and International Business Mark Worsop says the relationship with AUT is an exciting one.
“This is a top Auckland-based university that is providing a pathway into its business programmes with advanced standing for NZMA graduates. We have pathways with universities all over the world, but this new agreement provides more options for NZMA graduates who want to continue onto higher education within New Zealand,” he says.
Based in the heart of Auckland City, AUT is home to around 26000 students including 3000 international students. AUT is a contemporary university, with a distinctive approach to teaching and learning, focused on providing student-centred, innovative and responsive learning experiences. Described as the ‘university for the changing world’, its programmes are designed for those seeking a modern career and an exciting future.
Also new is an agreement between NZMA and the University of South Australia (UniSA), providing NZMA’s BTEC hospitality and business diploma graduates direct entry into the second year of a range of UniSA’s degree courses.
Founded in 1991, The University of South Australia is a well-respected, innovative university and is part of the influential Australian Technology Network (ATN), an alliance of five prominent universities from each mainland state. NZMA graduates who pathway to UniSA can feel confident they will be gaining world-recognised, top-quality degree qualifications that will stand them in excellent stead to forge their careers.
The university’s programmes have been designed in consultation with industry and the professions and incorporate real world professional experience so graduates can be immediately effective in the workplace.
Under the new partnership NZMA students who complete their BTEC Higher National Diploma in Hospitality Management are guaranteed direct entry into the second year of UniSA’s Bachelor of Tourism and Event Management. Students who complete their BTEC Higher National Diploma in Business at NZMA also enjoy the same privilege as well as guaranteed direct entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Applied Finance, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Management (Marketing), Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Management (Logistics and Supply Chain Management) and Bachelor of Business Administration (Specialisation).
“For NZMA graduates who want to further their studies overseas, UniSA will be a popular option, and the partnership complements our other international pathways to degree programmes in Switzerland and the UK.”
