A new partnership with a UK university offers a great opportunity for NZMA business and hospitality students who have their sights set on international careers.
NZMA has just signed an agreement with University College Birmingham (UCB), giving NZMA’s Level 6 business and hospitality diploma graduates direct entry and advanced standing into UCB’s world-recognised degree programmes.
Our Level 6 Diploma in Hospitality Management graduates are now guaranteed automatic entry into the final year of UCB’s BA (Hons) degree programme, with a range of majors to choose from, such as Hospitality and Tourism Business Administration, and Hospitality and Tourism Management. Meanwhile NZMA’s Business Diploma (Advanced) graduates are guaranteed direct entry into the final year of UCB’s BA (Hons) Business Enterprise Degree.
NZMA’s Director of New Business and Product Development Mark Worsop says the new articulation agreement is another exciting development for the private training provider, which works hard to develop new international pathways for its international students.
“There are many universities in the UK, the USA and Australia that recognise and provide pathways for the qualifications we offer at NZMA,” he says.
“However this is a direct institutional relationship that specifically recognises NZMA’s academic contribution and guarantees our students direct entry into the final year of UCB’s relevant degree programmes.
“This provides real global mobility as our international students can now study and work in New Zealand gaining valuable experience and then transition to the UK and finish their degrees in one year.”
UCB is based in Birmingham, England and is home to 7500 students on further and higher education programmes. Around 1100 of these are international students hailing from 63 different countries.
