26 June 2019 – Schools in the Waikato and Hamilton had 380 happy students munching on freshly made lunches by Classic Builders and Lowie Foundation students. Lunches were prepared at NZMA Hamilton campus, before being moved over to St Vincent’s Hall for the Homeless lunch.
Ten NZMA Lowie students and 12 Classic Builders worked at lightning speed to produce enough lunches to fulfil their goals. Lunches were delivered to 20 different schools in the Hamilton and Waikato district, feeding 380 students. Further beneficiaries were in St Vincent’s Hall for the Homeless lunch where many people attended.
Students taking part in the Lowie Foundation programme at NZMA participate in a number of projects, workshops, fitness training, mentoring sessions and field trips. It’s a programme designed boost literacy and numeracy skills within the context of sport and recreation.
