Skills sector delegation from Pakistan visits NZMA

Tuesday 2 October

1 October 2018 - Five experts from the Pakistan Vocational Training sector are visiting NZMA this week to learn about our system of vocational education and competency based training.

Each member represents a different subsector including: trades, design & fashion, hospitality, development, finance, hospitality, and communications.

General Manager NZMA Operations, Derek Martin, introduced the delegation to the Sylvia Park Campus staff and said, “These tours are really important to share skills and experience but to also highlight common challenges we face in education. We are sharing best practice aspects of our sector with our guests from Pakistan and learning from them which areas of their sector work well.

Group Leader Adeel Ahmed Pathan said, “We are all keen to connect and learn about the New Zealand experience, and how we can position vocational learning as a viable and respected education option.  We would also like to understand and consider how you leverage technology, research and development.  It will be a busy tour visiting campuses and meeting people, and we’re looking forward to our week here.”
