NZMA Hospitality graduate and award-winning bartender Sai Hamsala has just opened a bar in one of the CBD’s hottest entertainment precincts, Fort Street.
Rich Heart threw open its doors on Friday night with a grand opening attended by around 120 guests. Cocktails and canapes were followed by a stellar line-up of some of the city’s top DJ’s, including MC Tali, Bulletproof and Chiccoreli.
Set over two levels, the stylish new venue accommodates 180 people on the main level, while downstairs is available for private events catering for up to 90 guests. With a strong focus on classic and innovative cocktails, boutique wines and craft beer, Rich Heart looks set to become a favourite with city dwellers looking for a plush, upmarket spot to enjoy a tipple. Earlier this year Sai was named World’s Best Bartender at the Diplomático World Tournament Bartending Finals in Venezuela. Opening a bar was his next goal.
“I felt amazing on Friday night at the opening party. It’s like a dream come true! After bartending for ten years and winning the Diplomático World Championship, it is definitely the right time to have my own bar,” said Sai (pictured here on opening night with his bar manager Kathy Tipu).
Rich Heart is located at 63 Fort Street, Auckland City.
