Campus-based training is also available. One of these training providers is the New Zealand Management Academy (NZMA), which offers Levels Three and Four from its Otahuhu and Hamilton campuses. NZMA communications advisor Vanessa Trethewey says the courses are practical and include significant work experience. “Each campus has its own in-house retail shop, which is run by our retail students and enables them to polish their skills such as customer service, cashiering, stock control and time management. One of our key focusses at NZMA is to support our graduates into meaningful employment. We have our own employment service, NZMA Careers. The service is free to students, graduates and to employers. So for retailers looking for new staff, NZMA Careers is an excellent first port of call, as it has a bank of trained, passionate retail students and graduates.”
