Since opening our doors in 1985, we’ve built a stellar reputation for delivering top-quality specialised career training. Our three great campuses are home to over 2000 students (about 600 international) and 150 staff. 100% New Zealand-owned, NZMA has long been considered one of New Zealand’s leading hospitality, cookery and business education providers.

Student Services and Visa Assistance:

Don’t stress about a language barrier – NZMA has a multi-lingual student services centre, with staff who can help you in your language. They’ll assist you with:

  • accommodation
  • banking
  • study advice
  • visa information
  • and anything else you might need!
  • NZMA is also authorized to process online visa applications to change or extend student visas and gain Graduate Work Search Visas - so no need to queue up at New Zealand Immigration!  

NZMA courses:

Our practical certificate and diploma courses will give you the qualifications you need to launch an exciting career in hospitality, cookery or business. Through our Diploma in Applied Hospitality and our Diploma in Professional Cookery you’ll even graduate with extensive work experience – both these courses include a 600 hour full-time paid internship! All NZMA’s qualifications are accredited by NZQA and we have domestic and international pathways so you can take your studies all the way through to degree level.

Start dates for 2016 are:

22th February, 28th March, 9th May, 13th June, 5th July, 29th August, 10th October, 14th November.

Entry Requirements:

You must be 17 or older. Academic and English language entry requirements for each course can be found on the course pages.

NZMA Careers Study and Work

Study and Work with NZMA Careers - the NZMA Employment Specialists

If you’re enrolled in a course that’s at least a year long, you can now work full-time during each semester break.

NZMA Careers will give you the best chance of landing a great job in New Zealand, both part-time during your studies and full-time once you graduate. And their services are FREE! (Visa conditions apply)

They’ll help you with:

  • CV and cover letter writing
  • Interview skills (including formal CV and Interview skills workshops within the first two weeks of your course)
  • Job search techniques
  • Employment opportunities (including work experience, casual, part-time, full-time and internship positions)
  • Regular networking opportunities through industry events
  • Regular recruitment days
  • Annual Careers Fair

Auckland (Sylvia Park) Campus:

Auckland is New Zealand’s most cosmopolitan city and is frequently named one of the world’s top places to live. Within Auckland, is the thriving hub of Sylvia Park, home of NZMA’s newest campus. This spectacular, purpose-built facility currently has over 800 students from New Zealand and overseas.

NZMA Sylvia Park has everything you need, and more, including:

  • World-class training facilities including a student-operated café, commercial training kitchens, barista stations, cocktail bars, and restaurants
