FAQs for New Zealand Students

Will it be easy to get a job after I graduate?

Your NZMA qualification is a great start, but the biggest factor in your success is YOU! If you’ve got the right attitude, and want to find work, then your chances of finding a great job are excellent. Make the most of NZMA Careers, our free employment service. They’ll give you heaps of support and make sure your CV and interview skills will catch the eye of employers.

Do I have to do anything if I change my address?

Yes! Let your Student Enrolment Advisor know, and be sure to give them your new phone number and postal address.

What happens if NZMA can’t deliver my tuition?

Your fees are protected by a bank bond with an independent third party (a Chartered Accountant). This will cover any unused portion of your fees. NZMA has contracted a performance guarantee for the bond with the Westpac Banking Corporation.

How are the fees that I have paid protected?

Your fees are banked directly into a Trust Account administered by an independent Chartered Accountant. They are only paid out of the Trust Account eight days after your course starts.

How many students will be in my class?

Most of our classes have between 20 and 25 students, although occasionally there’ll be more students in lecture-type sessions.

What happens in the first week of the course?

That’s induction week! You’ll get to meet your classmates, learn about the campus and have a whole lot of fun. We’ll also outline our rules and regulations and you’ll sit some evaluations. This will help your tutors tailor their teaching style to best suit your needs.

Are student loans and allowances available for my course?

If you’re a New Zealand or Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident then you can apply for a student loan and/or allowance. Your Student Enrolment Advisor will be able to help you with your application and answer any questions you might have.

Are there other allowances available for my course?

Check with your Student Enrolment Advisor. They know about all the allowances you may be entitled to.
