This programme gives you all the basic skills you’ll need to be successful in the booming service sector industry. You will gain skills to provide great customer service in a variety of industries – hospitality, retail, cookery, travel and tourism. You will also gain some practical skills such as food and beverage service, presenting products and services to maximise sales, and handling customer enquiries.

This course is part of the government led Youth Guarantee Programme. If you are aged 16-19, and meet the course entry requirements, you can attend this course for FREE.
You can also get help with paying for travel to and from your course. This can all be sorted through Student Support.
Entry Requirements
To enrol you will need to be:
An NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident.
16 to 19 years of age before the start of the course.*
*15 year olds who hold Ministry-approved early exemption from their school may also be eligible. This exemption must be in place before the course starts.
