NZMA has a number of confirmed pathways to Universities both in NZ and overseas. Edexcel have also negotiated a number of pathways for the BTEC Higher National Diplomas in Business and Hospitality in Universities all over the world.

> Domestic Pathways from NZMA

AUT University
Based in the heart of Auckland City, AUT is home to around 26000 students including 3000 international students. AUT is a contemporary university, with a distinctive approach to teaching and learning, focused on providing student-centred, innovative and responsive learning experiences. Described as the ‘university for the changing world’, their programmes are designed for those seeking a modern career and an exciting future.
Students who complete NZMA’s Level 6 Diploma in Business (Advanced) with a B-grade average or equivalent are guaranteed to meet AUT’s criteria for recognition of prior learning, and be credited with 120 points towards their Bachelor of Business. This means they can enter directly into the second year of the degree.
Students who complete NZMA’s Level 6 Diploma in Applied Hospitality Management can transfer 135 points towards AUT’s Bachelor of International Hospitality Management, which is equivalent to one year and one paper.

University of Waikato
The University of Waikato is home to New Zealand’s top research-led business school.
All international students who successfully graduate from one of NZMA’s business diplomas are guaranteed direct entry into any bachelor degree offered by Waikato University’s Management School. Depending on their grades, and which business diploma they complete (Level 5 or Level 6), students are eligible to apply for between 30 and 80 points of credit towards their degree programme.

International students who successfully complete NZMA’s Diploma in Business (Advanced) Level 6 can staircase straight into the second year of MIT’s Bachelor of Business Programme.

Middlesex University England
Middlesex is a British university based in London, with a distinguished heritage of excellence and innovation in higher education. Credits from NZMA are recognised by Middlesex University and may be transferrable to allow student entry onto a specific Middlesex programme with advance standing and credit towards a named award of the University.

Southern New Hampshire University
Southern New Hampshire University offers more than 60 undergraduate and graduate programs in business, education, hospitality, community economic development and liberal arts. Western New England University
Western New England University is renowned for its personal attention to students. They offer more than 40 undergraduate majors and programs through their Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, and Engineering. Located in Springfield, Massachusetts, WNE enrolls approximately 3,700 students.

University College Birmingham (UCB) England
Based in Birmingham, UCB is home to 7500 students on further and higher education programmes. Around 1100 of these are international students hailing from 63 different countries. NZMA has articulation agreements and pathways to UCB for both its hospitality and business graduates.
Graduates of NZMA’s Diploma in Hospitality Management Level 6 are guaranteed automatic entry into the final year of UCB’s BA (Hons) degree programme with a range of majors to choose from such as Hospitality and Tourism Business Administration, and Hospitality and Tourism Management.
NZMA’s Business Diploma (Advanced) Level 6 graduates are guaranteed direct entry into the final year of UCB’s BA (Hons) Business Enterprise Degree.

DCT University Centre, Switzerland
Located near the Swiss city of Lucerne, DCT and its on-campus partner Lynn University, offer a choice of accredited hospitality and culinary programmes including a top-ranked US Bachelor Degree and an MBA or Post-graduate Diploma.
Graduates of NZMA’s Diploma in Hospitality Management Level 6 have advanced standing to earn both a US Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Management from Lynn University’s Switzerland Programme and a DCT Swiss Advanced Diploma in Hotel and Tourism Management. All this within an accelerated time frame of as little as one year, depending on the student’s major and grades. These students will also be given the chance to gain paid work experience in a Swiss hospitality operation.

University of South Australia
Founded in 1991, The University of South Australia (UniSA) is a well-respected, innovative university and is part of the influential Australian Technology Network (ATN), an alliance of five prominent universities from each mainland state. The university’s programmes have been designed in consultation with industry and the professions and incorporate real world professional experience so graduates can be immediately effective in the workplace.
NZMA students who complete their BTEC Higher National Diploma in Hospitality Management are guaranteed direct entry into the second year of UniSA’s Bachelor of Tourism and Event Management. Graduates of the BTEC Higher National Diploma in Business at NZMA also enjoy the same privilege as well as guaranteed direct entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Applied Finance, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Management (Marketing), Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Management (Logistics and Supply Chain Management) and Bachelor of Business Administration (Specialisation).

Languages International
NZMA and Languages International hold a Memorandum of Understanding. This Memorandum of Understanding allows students who pass the Languages International assessments at the requisite level to gain direct entry in to the Diploma in Business Level 5 or the National Diploma in Hospitality Management Level 5.
Languages International is a well respected English language school located in both Auckland and Christchurch.
