With 30 years of hospitality experience across three different continents, Pavel knows what it takes to forge an international career. Originally from Prague in the Czech Republic, Pavel later immigrated to Italy. He also lived in Canada for 23 years and eight years ago he moved to New Zealand. Pavel has worked in five star hotels and restaurants all over the globe and served everyone from politicians and royalty to sporting legends and screen stars. He has managed restaurants in Vancouver, Toronto and Auckland, including the upmarket O’Connell Street Bistro in Auckland’s CBD.
A qualified interior designer and successful painter, Pavel joined NZMA as a hospitality tutor in 2011. He spent three years sharing his extensive industry knowledge in the classroom, before becoming part of NZMA Careers in September 2014.
